Georgia's Online Assessment System:
You should have the "Quick Start Student Guide" which will take you step by step how to help your child take the sample online tests.  On this paper, you will have the student ID and password.  Please encourage your child to take as many of the assessment tests as possible as this will help them do better on the CRCT tests in the spring.  See the section below for all of the details.

Accelerated Reader - Are you interested in helping your child improve their reading skills?  The Accelerated Reader (AR) program is a great way to motivate your child and to keep you informed on their progress.  This is also a weekly requirement for our classroom, so get in on the action and let's get our kids reading, reading, reading!  To further encourage our kids, we will be starting a rewards program.  For every 5 points your child earns on the AR tests, he or she will earn a reward such as a pencil, cool eraser, book, wristband, notepad, or other fun incentive.  We want to do everything we can to encourage our kids to read, so check out this site and be sure to read with your child at home.

To see what your child has already read, then click on the link below and setup an account.  You'll need your child's AR login number, and the password for all of our children's accounts is     initpass     .  So ask your child to get their AR login number and you can see what they are reading and testing on at school.  You can even setup the account to email you whenever your child takes a test!  It's an easy and fun way to stay up to date on what they are reading and learning.

Parents - be sure to check your child's papers that they bring home from school and review the papers with your child.  Go over what they missed and help them see their mistakes - particularly if it is a CRCT paper.
CRCT is getting really close!  Give your child every advantage by having them take the practice CRCT tests on the website.  Mrs. Steinhauser sent home info for each child with their login information and password.
